Hennessy Advisors Inc., was founded in 1989 as a California Corporation under the name Edward J. Hennessy Incorporated. In May 2002, the Company completed its initial public offering. It is a publicly traded investment management firm whose business activity is managing, servicing and marketing its open-end mutual funds. The Company has a ‘Cornerstone Series’ of mutual funds namely the Hennessy Cornerstone Growth Fund, the Hennessy Cornerstone Growth Fund, Series II, the Hennessy Focus 30 Fund, the Hennessy Cornerstone Large Growth Fund, the Hennessy Cornerstone Value Fund, the Hennessy Total Return Fund and the Hennessy Balanced Fund (the Cornerstone Funds). The Cornerstone Funds use quantitative stock selection strategies to manage its portfolios. It also has a ‘Select Series’ of mutual funds: the Hennessy Select Large Value Fund, the Hennessy Select SPARX Japan Fund and the Hennessy Select SPARX Japan Smaller Companies Fund (the Select Funds). The Select Funds are actively managed and each employs a seasoned sub-advisor.
