Access National Corporation was organized in June 15, 2002 under the laws of Virginia to operate as a bank holding company for Access National Bank and Access National Capital Trust II. The Bank provides commercial credit, deposit and mortgage services to middle market businesses and associated professionals, mainly in the greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. Deposits with the Bank are insured to the maximum amount provided by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The Bank provides its customers with personal customized service utilizing the latest technology and delivery channels. The Company’s income is mainly derived from dividends received from the Bank. These dividends are determined by the Bank’s earnings and capital position. Access National Capital Trust II was formed for the purpose of issuing redeemable capital securities. The Bank operates from five banking centers located in Chantilly, Tysons Corner, Reston, Leesburg and Manassas, Virginia. The Bank’s lending activities involve commercial loans – represents approximately 14.9% of the Loan Portfolio held for Investment; Commercial real estate loans – represents approximately 45.3% of the loan portfolio held for investment; commercial and residential real estate construction loans – represents approximately 31% of the loan portfolio held for investment; residential mortgage loans. The Bank originates a total volume of approximately $68.4 million and consumer loans – represents approximately 0.3% of the loan portfolio held for investment; and Brokered Loans – approximately 4.4% of the loan portfolio held for sales. These lending activities provide access to credit to small to medium sized businesses, professionals and consumers in the greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area.
